Weaving Camp for Kids
Instructor: Diane Nelson*
Dates: July 8 to July 11
Times: 1P-4P
Ages: 9-13
Cost: $149

Summer offers a wonderful opportunity for children to explore new things. Weaving is one way to teach children the power of creating things by hand. Introducing kids to weaving through summer camp allows time for discovery, learning new things, and might even inspire a lifelong passion.

Diane Nelson, Program Director of the Heart of the Lakes Weaving Program, will be leading a “Weaving Camp for Kids” at Annandale Art & Textile Center this summer (July 8-11) where campers will learn the weaving process from beginning to end. They will learn how to warp a loom and how to weave. Multiple projects will be completed - some of the projects that can be chosen include a scarf, bag, wall hanging or towel. They will be able to pick their own colors and create pieces that they can be proud that they made with their own two hands.

Everyone will have the chance to let their creativity shine through and find the joy in weaving art together!

*Diane Nelson, is an artist and gifted weaver as well as the director of the Heart of the Lakes Weaving program.
